CHINESE MAN STEALS, CUTS UP ELEVATOR DOOR – June 19
A 70-year-old Chinese man was arrested after he allegedly stole a newly delivered steel elevator door from his building’s lobby and began slicing it up with a chainsaw inside his apartment. The bizarre incident took place in the city of in Tsing Yi. An elevator technician was working on replacing the elevator doors on the 11th floor and had temporarily left a pair of new steel doors in the lobby before stepping away. When he came back, one of the heavy doors had vanished. While searching the floor with estate security guards, they heard the loud sound of a chainsaw coming from a nearby apartment. They discovered the elderly tenant inside actively cutting up the stolen steel door.
* Let me guess – he really hates heavy metal?
* He gets jail time, the elevator company gets the shaft.
* Sounds like the guy’s elevator doesn’t go all the way to the top floor, if you catch my drift.
* Elevator vandalism. That really presses my buttons.
* How does a 70-year-old man steal a heavy elevator door all by himself? Why does he have a chainsaw in his apartment? Did they check his freezer for body parts? So many questions.
