CHINESE GANG CAUGHT RECYCLING CONDOMS

A Chinese gang netted five million dollars by recycling used condoms and selling them to unsuspecting supermarkets and hotel chains. Police in the city of Hebei found the workshops where the suspects did the recycling and said the hygienic conditions in those villages were very bad. The condoms were found to contain fungus, thin patches, and even holes. They seized 500,000 boxes of the used prophylactics, which were being packaged in forged Durex condom boxes. The fakes were sold wholesale to retailers for a fraction of the sticker price for real ones.
