CHINESE AIRLINE FIRES FLIGHT ATTENDANT WHO WAS PROPOSED TO MID-FLIGHT

A flight attendant was fired from her job with China Eastern Airlines after her boyfriend proposed to her during her flight last May. A video of the mid-flight proposal went viral on social media. The airline last week sent her a dismissal letter terminating her employment on the grounds of neglecting passenger safety, saying the “private romantic behavior caused turmoil among passengers” and was “extremely irresponsible for the safety of passengers.” Internet reaction is mixed.
