CHINA TELLS ITS SINGLE WOMEN TO “SETTLE”

China has long had a one-child population control policy, and because of this and a perceived greater value of male children, the country now has a massive gender gap. Within a few decades, there will be 30 million more Chinese men than women. To help ease the problem, the state-run newspaper Sichuan Daily has published an editorial encouraging women to stop waiting for Mr. Right, get on with it, get married and make babies. The editorial says, “Marriage is a process of tolerating each other and it’s impossible that everything goes your way. Change your attitude, return to the reality. Maybe there’ll be some imperfection, but your life will be full for it.” The editorial goes on to tell women that it’s OK to settle for a ‘more or less OK’ person.

* In three decades, 30 million horny Chinese men are gonna be a force to be reckoned with.
* Just wait – with too many men, China will start ordering them to undergo mandatory gender reassignment.
