CANADA TO RETURN PANDAS TO CHINA
Canada is returning two giant pandas to China because the coronavirus pandemic has disrupted their supply of bamboo. The Calgary Zoo announced that Er Shun and Da Mao, who were on loan from China until 2023, will return early since zookeepers are struggling to import enough bamboo for them. Giant pandas on average consume about 88 pounds of bamboo each day.
* Did they try feeding the pandas maple trees? Ketchup chips? Poutine? Tim Hortons?
* How about chopping up old rattan patio furniture?
* How do you get a shortage of bamboo? Is somebody making masks out of it?
* I thought they were being returned as a protest against China for infecting the human race with the virus, but Canada would never be that rude.
* The panda’s names were Er Shun and Da Mao, but in Canada they’re known as Sor-Ee and Eh Eh?
