BURGLARS TAKE CAB TO ROBBERY, STIFF DRIVER

Deal, New Jersey, police arrested two men who took a taxi to burglarize a house and then refused to pay the driver. Timothy Foote and Kenneth Burke called for a taxi to take them to a home in Deal last Friday night. They instructed the taxi driver to wait outside before they returned a short time later with a television set and some liquor bottles. The driver then took them to an apartment in Asbury Park, where they got out without paying the fare. The driver called Asbury Park police reporting the skipped fare and the suspicious activity of the customers. Burke and Foote were charged with burglary and other crimes. The stolen items were returned to the homeowner.
* And the cabbie still doesn’t get paid.
* Plus he’s out the cost of the gasoline.
* “If you’re not going to pay me, can I have one of those bottles of booze?”
* “Or we can go back and see if they have any computers or jewelry.”
* I knew they had a lot of gaming in New Jersey but a town called Deal?
* And guess what? Deal is the 13th most expensive zip code in America so the place is loaded.
* No wonder people go there to rob houses.
* The cab driver watched them load in the loot and still didn’t get it? Sorry, but that’s big-time dumb.
* Maybe they said it was a scavenger hunt for rich people.
