BROTHERS ARRESTED FOR DEALING HEROIN AT BURGER KING PLAYGROUND
Today in Horrible People: two brothers are jailed on charges they sold $4,600 worth of heroin to an undercover officer in the children’s play area of a Pennsylvania Burger King. One of the suspects, 28-year-old Marlan Byars, even had his 6-year-old son with him when the sting went down Monday in North Versailles, Pennsylvania, which is southeast of Pittsburgh. Police say Byars’ brother, 31-year-old Otis Pegues, set up the deal with the undercover officer. Police say Monday’s deal was the third they’ve made from the brothers in the last two weeks, the others happening at Wal-Mart and Kmart stores.
* And yet the guys who sell those addictive Burger King French toast breakfast sticks walk free.
* As dumb crimes go, this was a Whopper.
* I’m sorry, Marlan, but Take Your Kid To Work Day was last week.
* By all means, when dealing heroin choose a place that is unpopulated with people, such as a Walmart, Kmart or Burger King.
* Although I suppose Kmart actually does fall into that category these days.
* Let’s keep that headline. “Today in Horrible People” could be a regular bit.
* I know it’s Thursday but this story has a Monday feel to it.
* Don’t look now but heroin and opiates are everywhere in this society. Ask Prince how that goes.
* Oh wait. We still don’t know. He could have died of the flu.
