BRITISH MAN HIDES MODEL RAILROAD FROM GIRLFRIEND

A British man was worried that his new girlfriend might dump him if she found out he was into model trains. So, instead of telling her, Simon George kept the massive structure he had spent 8 years constructing hidden in the basement of a building he told his girlfriend he had rented to store wine in. For two years he led her to believe he was a wine merchant. Finally, she came down to the cellar one day and said: “Where’s all the wine?” He told her the truth and she was like “OK.” Simon says she has an art degree so she appreciated the level of detail and work that went into it. And now, Simon and Marie are engaged. The 200-foot-long model recreates a stretch of real train tracks located in West Yorkshire as it existed in the ’80s.
