BRIDE-TO-BE FLUSHES ENGAGEMENT RING DOWN THE TOILET
A California bride-to-be accidentally flushed her engagement ring. Carissa Wolter of Jurupa Valley, California, thought her ring was gone for good. The incident happened last Tuesday night when Wolter put her engagement ring and a pair of diamond earrings in a tissue while she cleaned her makeup brushes. Left with a pile of tissues when she was done, she flushed everything down the toilet. As she walked back to her room, she realized her ring and earrings were in the pile. “I was in shock and then I started looking everywhere,” she said. “I thought my engagement ring was gone. I didn’t want another, I wanted that one. My fiance worked really hard to get that to me.” Mortified, Wolter called her fiance of six months, Kevin Winter, who reminded her that the ring was “only a material thing.” The next morning the couple called the Jurupa Community Services District. The office sent a team to put a trap in Wolter’s sewer. After a few hours, they found the ring in the sewer down the street from Wolter’s home.
* She’s engaged, but her brain isn’t.
* Then they went back to her house, which had burned down ’cause she left the iron on.
* I wonder if that whole adventure cost more or less than the actual ring?
* “I don’t remember it being so brown.”
* Her fiance said the ring was only a material thing? Boy, this guy doesn’t have a clue, does he?
* He might as well have said, “Don’t worry your pretty little head about it.”
* At the very least it is not a good omen.
* If the marriage ends up going down the toilet, they can’t say they hadn’t been warned.
* Get used to it. This could be the first of many times the guy has nothing to do with it and it’s still somehow his fault.
