BRAZILIAN PRESIDENT’S IDEA TO SAVE THE RAINFOREST: “POOP LESS”

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has been criticized for a rapid acceleration in deforestation of the Amazon rainforest. Last Friday, he responded to a journalist’s question as to whether it was possible to simultaneously spur economic growth, feed the world’s hungry and also preserve the environment. He suggested that people “poop every other day.” President Bolsonaro said, “It’s enough to eat a little less. It’s enough to poop every other day. That will be better for the whole world.”
* Or, you could use your office, as president, to take serious steps to save the rainforest. But I suppose not going to the bathroom is easier.
* It may save the rainforest, but – my god – what it’s going to do for air pollution.
* Even the trees in the rainforest thought this idea was crap.
* Can you believe a president could say anything so ridiculous? How embarrassing.
