BOY SENDS APOLOGY LETTER FOR BARFING IN BOOKSTORE

Powell’s Books is an independent bookstore based in Portland, Oregon. Last month, a boy vomited on the floor outside the bathroom. Said manager Jennifer Wicka, “It was spread out really far, like 10 feet in diameter.” Shortly after the incident, the bookstore received an apology letter from a boy named Jack. It was addressed to Powell’s Books, attention Barf Cleaners. Inside was a Ben & Jerry’s gift card. The letter read: “This Ben and Jerry’s card is for the people who cleaned up the throw up of a kid on Friday the 28th. I don’t know their names but I thank them a lot, and I’m sorry again for throwing up. And I hope you enjoy your ice cream. From Jack, a.k.a. the kid that puked right next to the bathroom.”
* When the kid isn’t heaving he’s got some pretty good manners.
* I know a lot of boys aren’t crazy about books, but this is nuts.
* I’m not sure you want something to eat to acknowledge someone heaving.
* Ben and Jerry’s? Just don’t go with Chunky Monkey.
* He should have sent a gift card for Febreeze.
* Oh, and thanks to the manager Jennifer for adding her little touch to make this grosser.
* What? No description? Color … nothing?
* I guess we’ll have to be satisfied knowing it was 10 feet in diameter. Thanks, Jennifer.
