BOY SEARCHING FOR DOG FALLS IN WELL

In Brookhaven, Mississippi, a four-year-old boy and his dog were rescued from a well late Monday. The well was approximately 25 feet deep, with an opening that was only about a foot and a half wide. The child was initially taken to a hospital, but was uninjured. Authorities said the boy fell into the hole at approximately 5 p.m. local time, and was rescued around 8 p.m. The boy heard his dog barking, and fell into the well as he turned around. The dog had been in the well for about a week. Rescuers promised the boy a ride on a fire truck, which they gave to him after his hospital checkup.
