BEING A SINGLE MAN STINKS
A new study, published in the journal “Frontiers in Psychology,” finds that men without partners actually smell noticeably worse than men with partners. Researchers from Macquarie University in Australia enlisted 82 heterosexual women to sniff the sweaty armpits of a group of coupled – and uncoupled – men. The unattached men, who were all between the ages of 18 and 35, consistently rated worse on the smelly scale. The researchers claim that the smell is not from poor hygiene, but rather single men produce more testosterone than partnered ones. Higher levels of the male hormone are associated with stronger body odor, which can explain the distinctive smell.
* (like a radio announcer) “Flush that masculinity out of your system with ‘Wedding Ring’! Yes, ‘Wedding Ring’ removes unwanted testosterone faster than you can say ‘The View’!”
* So it’s the stinky guys who are out in the dating scene? Sorry, ladies.
* “Listen, Lorraine – I’d be careful dating Kyle. He smells married.”
* What kind of woman agrees to go into a lab to smell guys’ armpits? Kristin Stewart looks like she might, but anyone else? No way.
* “Frontiers in Psychology”? More like “Totally Off The Map Of Psychology”.
