AUDIO: SMART PEOPLE LISTEN TO INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

A new study published in Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences suggests that those who prefer instrumental music tend to be more intelligent. Study author Elena Racevska, a PhD student at Oxford Brookes University, tested the hypothesis using an intelligence test and a music questionnaire. They surveyed 467 Croatian high school students, and found that those with higher scores on the intelligence test were associated with a preference for genres such as jazz, classical, big band and ambient/electronica.
* Well, lah-di-dah…. di-dah, di-dah-dah-daht di-dah daaaaahhh.
* Because so many high schoolers love jazz. That’s just a fact. Ask any high schooler.
* Oh, yeah, those are some real rocket scientists at those EDM shows.
* Maybe Croatian songs just have really bad lyrics?
* I don’t think Drake or Adele or Ed Sheeran really care if their fans are dummies.
* Another kick to the gut for opera.
