AUDIO: RUDE CANADIAN CAUSES FLIGHT DELAY
A passenger complaining about his in-flight meal caused a major delay on an Air Canada flight over the weekend. The flight attendants were taking meal requests from business class passengers before the plane took off when the unidentified man became “disruptive,” demanding to be served fish and claiming he could not eat meat or gluten. The man was swearing and being verbally abusive, but did not appear to be drunk. According to a witness, he said, “If I don’t get fish, there will be a problem. One way or another, I will get my fish, either you serve it to me or I will serve it to myself.” The passenger’s behavior forced the plane to go back to the gate, where he was removed from the flight. However, his outburst caused enough of a delay that the pilot and co-pilot had reached their limit on flying hours, and two more pilots had to be brought in. The flight, from Vancouver to Toronto, ended up delayed by five hours.
* I hope to hell the new pilot and co-pilot brought fish.
* The real story here is, there’s actually a rude Canadian.
* Was a fish dinner really worth carping over?
* It was a crappie thing to do.
* Still trying to decipher the “either you serve it to me or I will serve it to myself” line.
