AUDIO: PILOT DIES DURING FLIGHT
The pilot of an American Airlines passenger jet died during a flight from Phoenix to Boston on Monday. Airline officials did not specify the cause of death but said it was from “illness.” The flight with 147 passengers and five crew members on board was en-route from Phoenix to Boston when the pilot became ill. It was diverted to Syracuse, New York. The co-pilot landed the flight safely, shortly after 7 a.m.
* Time to go back to annual physicals.
* That’s one announcement you don’t want to hear during a flight.
* “Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Tell everyone I love them. Goodbye.”
* “Oh and if you look out the left window you can see the Grand Canyon.”
* I don’t think the co-pilot landed the plane. I think the only pilot who was left landed the plane.
* Diverted to Syracuse? Geeze, you’re practically at Boston. The guy’s dead – do you really have to throw a monkeywrench into everybody else’s day, too?
* There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, and, it turns out, there are also cold pilots.
