AUDIO: OREGON'S MYSTERY SOUND

A mysterious sound is baffling people in a neighborhood in Forest Grove, Oregon. A resident recorded the sound (below). Residents say they’ve heard the noise for weeks and at all hours. Officials do not know the source at this time. Dave Nemeyer, fire marshal of the Forest Grove Fire and Rescue in Forest Grove, Oregon, told ABC News that a resident described it as coming from the middle of the street. “It’s definitely a horrendous noise. I have no idea what the noise is. To me, it sounds like the sound of train tracks, that metal screeching sound, but there are no train tracks near her home … so that’s obviously ruled out.” A water valve, a gas leak and wildlife are a few of the things that have already been ruled out.
* Bigfoot plugging in his stereo system?
* Paul Bunyan’s teakettle?
* The Hulk practicing his giant violin?
* Okay, that’s stupid. Everyone knows The Hulk plays upright bass.
* I give up. Can we send in Mulder and Scully?
* Hey, if the 9.0 earthquake hits Oregon any time soon, don’t say the planet didn’t try and warn us.
* The horrible sound has even been compared to Adele at the Grammys.
* Uh oh. The Pope just said it’s because Oregon isn’t a very Christian place.
* Actually, the sound is right around the same frequency as when Hillary starts screeching.
* It can’t be a train because there are no train tracks nearby. And that’s the kind of analysis that’s going to help get us through this thing.
