AUDIO: MAN BUYS 1,000 CHICKENS FOR A BUCK-AWWK!
A New Zealand man accidentally bought 1,000 live chickens. Steve Morrow saw an ad for “urgent sale – hens” for $1.50 in an online auction. The ad was, admittedly, a little confusing. He thought he was buying one bird, but afterwards was then told by the seller that he’d actually bought 1,000 hens. The seller, a free-range egg farm in Auckland, was closing down and needed to be fully empty by Monday. But – happy ending – Morrow posted the problem on social media and has found homes for over 700 of the chickens so far.
* In New Zealand, they call their frying pans “homes”. True fact.
* What the heck? Are there no KFC’s or Chic-Fil-A’s in New Zealand? (There are!)
* He had to be thinking, “Well, I’m clucked.”
* Why $1.50? Was the extra 50 cents really the difference between profit and loss on this deal?
* CLIP: Do you have chickens? Here’s our “Backyard Chicken” song.
