AUDIO: MAN BREAKS RECORD WITH LOUDEST BURP

An Australian man broke a ten-year-old Guinness World Record when he let out a burp measured at 112.4 decibels. Neville Sharp, of Darwin, Northern Territory, said his wife encouraged him to go for the record, and he spent five years preparing by honing the strength and noise level of his belches. Sharp said the most difficult part of the record was gathering the proper equipment to accurately measure the volume. Sharp’s record-breaking burp broke the record of 109.9 decibels, which was set in 2009 by Paul Hunn of Britain.
* It sounds like it melted the microphone.
* He has a future in the Australian navy as a foghorn.
* His wife encouraged him, huh? Fun couple.
* If you slow it down, you’ll find that he actually burped the entire alphabet in there very fast.
* This story has been brought to you by 7-Eleven’s Big Gulp.
CLIP: Here is the burp, with the digital readout verifying 112.4 decibles.
