AUDIO: MAILMAN TRAPPED IN TRUCK BY FLOCK OF TURKEYS

A mailman had to be rescued from a gang of wild turkeys by police. The postal worker was delivering mail in Hillsdale, New Jersey, when the vicious flock surrounded his truck, trapping him inside. He called his postmaster, who called 911. The police officer on the other end of the line burst out laughing, but he did send out two cops to take on the birds, which were biting and chasing the mail truck. The cop blasted his police car’s sirens, causing the birds to scatter. The 911 call is below.
* Biting and chasing the mail truck? Just how big were these birds?
* Of course, the biggest turkey in this story is the mailman.
* He’s lucky they didn’t bite him in the giblets.
* Are you sure he wasn’t drinking Wild Turkey instead?
* And I thought porch bandits were the latest problem.
* “Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” Wild turkeys though? That’s a different story.
* This is what Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” would look like as a Thanksgiving Special.
* If the turkeys show up again, he’s going to try to scare them off with a broiling pan.
