AUDIO: KFC GETTING ITS CHICKENS OFF ANTIBIOTICS

KFC said it plans to stop serving chicken raised with antibiotics. The fried chicken chain said the change will be completed by the end of next year at its more than 4,000 U.S. restaurants. Meat producers give animals antibiotics to make them grow faster and prevent illness, but the practice has become a public health issue because it can lead to germs becoming resistant to drugs, making antibiotics no longer effective in treating some illnesses in humans. KFC said it its working with more than 2,000 poultry farms around the country to make the change.
* Yes, it’s definitely the antibiotics that are bad for you, not the inch-and-a-half coating of fried grease.
* “Hey, this new KFC chicken tastes like it has the flu.”
* Maybe if the poultry farmers didn’t let their chickens go out cruisin’ every Saturday night, they wouldn’t pick up so many germs.
* It makes sense. It’s way too late but it makes sense.
* It’s time to stop worrying about the flock’s immunity and start worrying about our own herd immunity.
* Don’t worry. If a pandemic does hit because of these resistant germs, at least we’ve saved our nation’s treasure so we’ll have plenty of money to deal with it. Just kidding.
* Of course now the chickens are suing to get their antibiotics back.
* You know what this means, right? Here come the chicken steroids.
