AUDIO: FRAUDULENT VOTING IN BIRD OF THE YEAR PAGEANT

The Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand has claimed there was massive voter fraud in their annual Bird of the Year competition. About 1500 fraudulent votes have been cast for the little spotted kiwi, pushing it to the top of the bird leaderboard, but those votes have now been been removed. Bird of the Year spokesperson Laura Keown said, “If you really love the kiwi pukupuku, get out and campaign for them in Bird of the Year. But we don’t want to see any more cheating.” It is not the first time the competition has been hit by a voting scandal. In 2018, one person voted for the shag more than 3000 times.
* Are we still talking about birds?
* The second-place bird, the orange-faced loon, has sent a team of lawyers in to protest the vote.
* They knew they were fraudulent bird votes because all the ballots had the same chicken-scratch signature.
* You hate to see the Bird of the Year competition turn seedy.
