AUDIO: DOCTOR RAPS ABOUT SAFE SEX FOR THE ELDERLY
A North Carolina doctor who makes sex-ed rap videos for kids has now made a rap video about STD prevention for senior citizens. Dr. Shannon Dowler, aka RapDktaD, uses “Ice Ice Baby” as a beat for “STD’s Never Get Old.” Dr. Dowler says, “It’s tough, to tell a 72-year-old that they’re having their first herpes outbreak. If they’ve lost their partner, they’re suddenly developing a new relationship, and there’s a whole slew of STD’s they’ve never heard about.”
* Golden years, my eye.
* That doctor is not only hip, she knows how to replace one.
* The old people I know prefer to get their health advice through Grateful Dead song parodies.
* So far the old people have reacted with shock and disgust … not to the STDs – to the rap music.
* Wow, developing a new sexual relationship when you’re 72? And you thought the singles scene was rough at the clubs.
* Single seniors mostly meet each other in waiting rooms.
* “Yeah, I think the arthritis is moving into the ankles. So tell me, sweety – are those real?”
* “How ’bout we get together sometime for a game of Strip Pinochle?”
* I’m all for discussing things openly in society, but I’m starting to rethink that.
* Future videos will feature pickup lines when you’re ready to make that next move.
* That one’s called, “Don’t Come Knocking, If This Old Folks Home Is Rocking.”
CLIP: A bit of “Safe Sex Baby”.
