AUDIO: BOBCAT GOES MISSING FROM NATIONAL ZOO
A bobcat is missing from the National Zoo in Washington, DC. In a press release Monday afternoon, the zoo said the bobcat, a female named Ollie, was last counted at 7:30 a.m. Monday morning by a keeper. The zoo says keepers routinely check all of the animals first thing in the morning. At 10:40 a.m., keepers called the bobcats for their morning feeding, but Ollie didn’t come. The zoo took measures to attract Ollie back to her enclosure, as it is believed she may return to her familiar grounds for food and shelter. The area around the bobcat exhibit is closed and the zoo says the bobcat will likely stay hidden from humans.
* Key word: “likely”.
* I question the applicability of the term “keeper”.
* How about “loser”? As in “What loser made us lose one of our bobcats?”
* Did they put up yellow tape and traffic cones? Because yellow tape and traffic cones are a great way to keep a bobcat in a specific area.
* If they don’t catch it soon, it won’t be the only animal that’s missing.
* Might want to put the flamingos and peacocks indoors for awhile.
* This is classic. It’s right out of the game of hide and seek: “Ollie, Olie in come free, free, free.”
* I just looked up the origins of that phrase and it started as “All ye” but hell, close enough.
* I knew it. I knew it. As soon as Trump took over things were going to get weird in Washington.
* It may return to familiar grounds? No, if it liked those it would have stayed.
* The bobcat exhibit is closed? Yeah, no kidding. It’s hard to run a bobcat exhibit when the bobcat’s gone.
