AUDIO: ANOTHER BANANA BANK ROBBERY
A British man who robbed a bank with a banana back in March was given a 14-month prison sentence on Monday. Laurence Vonderdell, 50, convinced staff at the bank in Bournemouth that the banana was a gun so they handed over £1,100. He then approached two police officers telling them that he had just robbed a bank but they did not believe him and he was asked to go on his way. Vonderdell then walked another two miles to a police station where he told the same story and was arrested for robbery. He told police he wanted to be arrested so he would have a roof over his head after being evicted.
