AUDIO: A LOOK INTO THE FUTURE

Futurologist Dr. James Bellini, who works with a recycling platform called Reward4Waste, has some predictions on what we’ll be seeing in the not-to-distant future. Here are some of his predictions:
– Ultra-sonic waves will zap your clothes clean.
– Homes will feature waterless dishwashers, using high-tech beads to pulverize dirt.
– Families will think eating bugs for dinner is mainstream.
– In 30 years, we will have vertical farms, and grow things upwards in towers. Historians will look back and joke about how we used to grow all our food on horizontal planes when there is so much space to use up above.
Dr. Bellini commissioned a poll asking what technology people believe we’ll be seeing in the next 30 years. None of this is absolute – this is just what people think will be commonplace by 2050:
– Autonomous, self-driving cars
– Smart refrigerators that manage shelf life and use robots to restock themselves
– Lab-grown meat
– Windows that tint automatically in the sunshine
– Robotic housekeeping
– “Healthy” junk food
– A mirror to apply make up for you
– A machine that can perfectly wrap anything you put in
– Ovens that plate up your food once cooked
– Food that doesn’t go bad
– Chocolate that doesn’t melt
– Jet packs
– Smell-o-vision
– Flying cars
* Ha – they always put a joke on on the end of these lists. Flying cars – ha ha!
* Still no hoverboards. Bastards.
* Also in the year 2050, theaters will be showing “Batman 25.”
* And we’ll be dealing with COVID variant X-203.
* George R.R. Martin will be THIS CLOSE to releasing the next Song of Fire and Ice book.
* I’d be happy if, when I said “Only Murders in the Building” on Hulu – JUST LIKE HULU TELLS ME TO DO EVERY TIME – the TV would actually take me to Only Murders in the Building on Hulu.
* Anyone who doesn’t think we already have Smellovision has never been to my man cave when I take my sneakers off to watch TV.
* They forgot to mention that by 2050, the gap between rich and poor will be 1000% bigger.
