ANGRY AIRPORT BAGGAGE HANDLER SWITCHED TAGS
An angry baggage handler has been charged with “mischief” after he took out his frustrations with his company by switching tags on luggage. Tay Boon Keh, 66, was sentenced to 20 days in jail on Monday after he confessed to intentionally swapping 286 luggage tags on passenger’s bags at Singapore Changi Airport, which sent them to different destinations, between November 2016 and February 2017. He had become angry with Singapore Airlines and SilkAir because his X-ray machine kept breaking down, forcing him to manually carry the bags to another functioning X-ray machine. The airlines received 286 complaints from passengers claiming their bags’ tags had been tampered with and their luggage was sent somewhere other than the intended destination.
* This sounds like how a Bond villain would start down the path of evil.
* 20 days in jail may seem pretty light, but during that time he’s required to only eat airline food.
* Dummy! When the X-ray machine breaks down, just keep sending the luggage through and marking it “Okay”. What’s the worst that could happen?
* It’s a good thing America’s airline employees are all so happy and underworked.
* Sometimes the best thing is to just be glad you have a job.
