AMUSEMENT PARK OBJECTS TO BUILDING A RETIREMENT HOME NEXT DOOR
The Thorpe Park amusement park in Surrey, England, is considering legal action over a proposed retirement home someone wants to build next to the park. Thorpe is afraid of all the noise complaints they might get, even though they were there first. The park says the development of 79 apartments at Eden Retirement Living community could impact future investment in the park if it becomes a target for noise complaints.

* Why can’t they just ask the roller coaster riders not to scream?
* Make it a retirement home for seniors with hearing loss?
* The amusement park could advertise the retirement home as a Halloween haunted village.
* You know a better place for a community of homes? Under an airport flight path. I know those are good spots because developers are building houses under existing flight paths all the time.
