AIRBNB HOUSE USED AS A BROTHEL
A Dunedin, New Zealand, man was on vacation in Asia for a month last July and August and his daughter helped him rent his home to two women through Airbnb. For the first couple of weeks, neighbors saw many men coming in and out of the property. The hot water system broke from overuse, and the plumber who came to fix it described scenes of a brothel. The owner’s power usage quadrupled in August, costing him more than $600 for the month. The owner described menacing figures returning to his house after he came home, acting aggressively and asking if the women were still around. After complaining, Airbnb has agreed to reimburse the man $624 for electricity, $70 for missing bath towels, $200 for a plumber, $80 for an electrician and $500 for 20 hours of cleaning. They also offered the man money for counseling and a security system.
* All I can say is, that’s not nearly enough cleaning.
* I’d also have a couple of questions for my daughter, who found the renters.
* Did the plumber also install some pipe, if you know what I’m saying?
* Airbnb? More like Air-Badda-Bing-Badda-Boom.
