COPS SHOOT BENGAL TIGER IN ATLANTA SUBURBS
Police in the Atlanta suburb of Stockbridge shot and killed a Bengal tiger Wednesday morning. At least two people called 911 to report the big cat lurking near a ramp on I-75 North and a nearby home about 6 a.m.. Cops alerted animal control officers after spotting the beast, but there wasn’t any time to wait for those authorities to arrive when the tiger suddenly went for a dog in someone’s backyard. It jumped a fence and went after the dog, and officers shot the tiger. It was not immediately known how the tiger made it to the area, but there are several animal preserves in the area.
* “No, I thought YOU counted the tigers last night.”
* For the tiger, this did not end “G-r-r-r-EAT!”
* Good work, Police Captain Smith: “Tiger… tiger… no, I don’t think I can remember ever getting a call about A TIGER ON THE LOOSE IN THE SUBURBS.”
* Good luck getting that dog to ever go to the bathroom outside again.
UPDATE:
By Wednesday afternoon, they figured out whose tiger it was. An entertainment company – Feld Entertainment Inc., which produces Disney on Ice and Monster Jam – was transporting the Bengal tiger Wednesday from Florida to Tennessee when it broke free. The company was not aware that the animal made a break for it. Authorities say the truck had stopped in Georgia during the overnight hours and during that stop, the female Bengal tiger managed to escape unnoticed.
