AUDIO: TEEN CAUGHT SMUGGLING BENGAL TIGER CUB FROM MEXICO

A California teenager was caught trying to smuggle a Bengal tiger cub into the United States. Luis Valencia was charged after border officials found the furry cub early Wednesday lying on the floor of a car heading from Mexico to California. Valencia, a U.S. citizen, told a court Thursday that he had purchased the tiger for $300 from someone he met in Tijuana, who was walking a full-sized tiger on a leash. U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service officials took custody of the cub and were working with the San Diego Zoo to care for it.
* “Uhh … he followed me home?”
* Stupid kid, first thing he told the cops was, “At least you didn’t find the marijuana.”
* Guy walking a full-sized tiger in Tijuana? Must be a tough neighborhood.
* I guess when drug gangs are cutting people’s heads off, keeping a tiger close by is not such a bad idea.
