NJ MAN CAUGHT WITH $12,000 IN UNPAID TOLLS
Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police arrested a man who owes $12,000 in unpaid tolls and fees. Police arrested 42-year-old Julian Garcia, of Towaco, New Jersey, after authorities say he attempted to avoid paying the toll at the Lincoln Tunnel on Thursday. Garcia is a sports writer for the New York Daily News.
* Yeah YOU try making it on a newspaper writer’s salary these days.
* Good thing they caught him before he got away with too much.
* $12,000 in unpaid tolls. That’s like, what, 8 trips into the city?
* He owes more in tolls than I paid for my car.
* The cop that nabbed him made his ticket quota for the next 50 years.
* Here comes the crowd-funding event.
* Poor guy has to cover petulant millionaires playing sports and he can’t even afford the toll to get into town.
* And yes, I am looking at you, Knicks.
* Have you heard about the state of Virginia? Some commuters into Washington, D.C. from Virginia will pay $92 a day.
* Gee, it’s almost like the government exists to soak us for every penny they can get.
