AUDIO: COPS PRANK DRIVERS, GIVE THEM ICE CREAM CONES
A video making the rounds on the internet shows Halifax, Virginia, police officer Brian Warner approaching a Toyota sedan. He asks the driver, “Were you familiar with why I pulled you over today?” She mumbles back, “No. I mean, no sir.” Warner asks, “Are you familiar with vehicle code 1.7.3.9?” The woman shakes her head no. The officer says, “It’s actually against the law to drive on a hot day without an ice cream cone,” and he hands the woman and her son an ice cream cone each. The woman breaks into a fit of laughter. The woman was among the dozen or so drivers pranked by the cops last week.

* Because cops are known for their wacky sense of humor.
* This is wonderful and all, but you know she’s thinking, “Please don’t shoot me.”
* “No, I’m not gonna shoot ya. But I will give you a brain freeze.”
* “The woman breaks into a fit of laughter”? More like a fit of relief.
* It’s odd that they didn’t choose donuts.
* Later, she was startled when the ice cream fell onto her lap, and caused a 13-car pileup.
* I always wonder about the stuff that criminals are getting away with while these PR stunts are going on.
* Gee, they just happened to have a video of this? What a coincidence.
* Mainly I’m just jealous that I don’t have an ice cream cone right now.
* Oh course, the trauma of being pulled over would sort of negate that.
* Vehicle code 1.7.3.9.? By the time that comes up I’m too freaked out to taste the ice cream.
