NEW HOMEOWNER FINDS BODY
A new homeowner in Simi Valley, California, eager to move into her new house opened the bedroom door only to find a body. The unidentified homeowner found the body of 84-year-old Salvatore Orefice on a bed. The buyer had paid $430,000 for the house last month. The homeowner called police, and Mary Karacas, 75, was arrested on suspicion of murder in the elderly man’s death. Karacas told detectives that she and Orefice got into an altercation and at some point Karacas said she shot the man. Orefice and Karacas had had 30 days to vacate the home after they sold it. It was unclear how long the body had been in the home.
* Don’t you just hate it when the previous owners leave their junk behind?
* Simi Valley? More like SEAMY Valley.
* You’d think the body would come up in the home inspection.
* This is going to take more than a few potpourri candles to fix.
* This is like the opposite of “curb appeal”.
* I like how the woman sort of suggested she might have killed him: “We had an altercation and then at some point I shot the man. Could that have something to do with this?”
* I know moving can make people irritable, but this is nuts.
* I think at the very least you change the sheets on the bed.
* And at the other end of it, you unload the house and get the hell out of there.
* Why stick around to see if Salvatore’s ghost haunts the place?
