FIREMEN PHONE IN FAKE 911 CALLS SO THEY CAN RIDE AROUND IN THE FIRE TRUCK
Four volunteer firefighters in Logan Township, Pennsylvania are facing charges after calling in fake emergencies, just so they could ride around in the fire truck. The four were probationary members with fewer than 90 days of experience at Logan Township’s Kittanning Trail Station. Between January and March, the men called in false reports of a chimney fire, a mudslide, a car accident and a fire at a bank. All were false alarms. All four men have been suspended for six months.
* I always thought there were only three Stooges.
* Yeah, I don’t see why they’d have to put out a fire at a mudslide.
* This is taking the whole “volunteer” thing too far.
* On the bright side, they’re now the most experienced drivers on the force.
* Logan Township is only around 12,000 people. Sooner or later they’re going to notice there’s just not that many emergencies.
* Now they’re going to have to team up with an arsonist.
* Hey, you try sitting around the fire station, day after day. It gets boring.
* One clue was that six other emergencies were at strip clubs.
* The problem is you get a real fire and these guys are out joy-riding.
* Some men don’t ever really grow up, do they?
* PHONE TOPIC: Riding in a fire truck must be pretty fun, though. Do you have some part of your job that is especially thrilling?
