GUY HOLDS DOOR FOR COP, COP ARRESTS HIM

A man politely stopped to hold the door for a police officer leaving a mall in Natick, Massachusetts. The officer turned around to thank him and recognized the man. After returning to his patrol car, the officer looked up 28-year-old Kayvon Mavaddat in the computer and saw that Mavaddat had outstanding warrants on charges for heroin possession, shoplifting, and driving violations. He then returned to the mall and arrested Mavaddat, who is now being held without bail.
* No good deed goes unpunished.
* Did the cop hold the cell door open for him in return?
* Did the guy at least get his mall shopping done?
* The one cop at the mall not hanging out at Cinnabon, and this happens.
* Not questioning Mr. Mavaddat’s intelligence, but he had probably a ten minute head start and didn’t use it to get away.
* At first I thought the guy was arrested for being too polite.
* “We don’t allow that fancy etiquette in this state, son.”
* Then I thought maybe holding the door open for the officer challenged his masculinity.
* The guy’s into heroin? That’s too bad but the shoplifting and driving violations just make me think of Lindsay Lohan.
* To give you some idea of the heroin problem in Massachusetts, Route 91 – the big north-south freeway – is now called the Heroin Highway.
