AUDIO: NY POLICE CAPTURE STRAY KOMODO DRAGON
Police officers in New York said officers captured a stray Komodo dragon on the streets of Queens last Thursday. The animal was discovered under a trash bin by residents of the Flushing neighborhood. Officials said the 3-foot-long Komodo dragon does not appear to be fully grown. The species can grow to up to 10 feet long and weigh up to 150 pounds. The apparent escaped pet was taken to a local animal hospital for care.
* So, the Godzilla eggs are hatching.
* At three feet, how do they know it’s not just a common New York rat?
* All the neighbors in the nearby building might want to check for, you know, a bad odor coming from a locked apartment in the next couple of weeks.
* Forgive me for getting nostalgic but a komodo dragon played an early role in a wacky news classic.
* It was when Sharon Stone got her then husband a visit into the Komodo dragon cage at the zoo and he was told to remove his shoes so as not to confuse it.
* The komodo dragon immediately bit down on Sharon Stone’s husband’s foot – the first time anyone had used the phrase “wacky news gold.”
* The story had everything. You had an A-list movie star combined with an A-list lizard.
