CANDY NOW COMES WITH GMO LABELING
The Mars candy company has started to include the labeling of genetically modified organisms on its candy and chocolate packaging. The words, “Partially produced with genetic engineering,” are printed on the back of M&M bags. You can also find GMO labels on Mars’ 75th anniversary M&Ms, Skittles, Lifesavers and Wrigley gum. The new labels are in response to a law in Vermont that will require labels on food products that contain genetically-engineered ingredients starting July 1.
* Genetic modification must be how they get the M&M’s to grow little hands and feet and talk.
* Mmmm…genetically modified nougat….
* M&M’s now stands for ‘mutate’ and ‘modify’.
* Don’t worry. If one of our fine corporations is using genetically modified organisms then I’m sure they’re perfectly safe.
* Okay, this isn’t the healthiest approach, but you already crossed that bridge when you decided to eat a candy bar.
* So they’re not Lifesavers anymore as much as modified life forms.
* Ironically, the stuff really IS starting to sound like it came from Mars.
