ISIS DESERTER DID IT FOR THE BOOTY
A Virginia man who joined ISIS but deserted the organization earlier this week has expressed regret, saying he “made a bad decision” and “was not thinking straight.” In an interview broadcast on the Kurdistan 24 news station, Mohamad Jamal Khweis, 26, said he had made his way to the ISIS-held city of Mosul, Iraq with an unidentified woman whom he had met in Turkey while traveling. He said the pair traveled from Istanbul to Mosul by bus and private vehicle, arriving on Jan. 16. “On the way there I regretted [my decision], and I wanted to go back home after things didn’t work out and saw myself living in such an environment,” Khweis said. He was only able to stay in Mosul for a month before he had enough. “It is not like Western countries. It is very strict and no smoking there.” Khweis found someone who could take him back to Turkey, but the guy ended up dropping him near Turkey’s border. Khweis said he attended mosque in America, but did not do so frequently. Apart from his encounter with the Iraqi woman, he did not offer any other reason for why he joined ISIS.
* Interesting story! Don’t hurry back!
* Put this guy on the no-fly list. And the no-walk, no-boat, no-get-a-lift, no bus lists.
* Every man in American knows why this guy did it. It’s called “gettin’ some”. We’ve all been there, brother.
* What I get from this is that he changed his mind when he realized he had to give up smoking.
* Once again, we learn how important it is to have an exit strategy.
* Sorry, but I’m not sure expressing regret is going to get you off the hook here.
* A bad decision? Joining ISIS is a hell of a lot worse than just a bad decision.
* And I don’t care how hot the girl was.
* You don’t say that O.J. Simpson made a bad decision to kill two people.
* Typical. He met her on the jihadi chapter of eHarmony.
* PHONE TOPIC: Guys: how far into a “not thinking straight” experience did you go just to get some?
