AUDIO: EXPLOSION AT THE NATIONAL ZOO
A spokeswoman from the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C., confirmed that there was an “incident” near the otters and beavers exhibit Thursday morning. There were reports of a chlorine explosion. No guests, staff, beavers or otters were hurt in the event.
* Nobody cares about the beavers and otters. How are the pandas?
* Sounds like Ling-Ling went Boom Boom.
* Actually Ling-Ling died in 1992 but I didn’t want to use the current panda names. They didn’t ask for this publicity.
* Chlorine can explode? The stuff they put in every swimming pool in America?
* My theory: it was a diversion while the baboons made a break for it.
* Do the Penguins of Madagascar have an alibi?
* Everyone is already jumpy – we sure don’t need surprise explosions in Washington, D.C.
