AUDIO: TEACHER CALLS STUDENT DUMB
A teacher in Greensboro, Georgia, has resigned after calling one of his students “the dumbest girl I have ever met.” Teacher Cory Hunter resigned at a school board meeting Monday night. 16-year-old junior Shaniaya Hunter, who is not related to the teacher, says she was trying to catch up before a test in December and asked the teacher a question. Shaniaya Hunter was recording the lesson on a school-issued iPad. It recorded her teacher’s response: “I have been around for 37 years and clearly you are the dumbest girl I have ever met.” He added that her purpose in life will be to have sex and have babies.

* “The dumbest girl he’s ever met”? Maybe she wouldn’t be so dumb if she’d had better teachers.

* Also, you’re only supposed to make your students feel good about themselves all the time, so that they’re ready for the real world.

* Fortunately, the student in question was to dumb to understand the insult.
* Let’s not be too critical. The teacher did give the student some real advice as to what she should do with her life.
* Not every teacher looks at the big picture like that.
* Plus, technically, of all the girls he’s met, SOMEONE has to be the dumbest, right?
* Personally, I didn’t mind the insults from my teachers. It was the threats that got me.
