BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR MASSACHUSETTS RAP BATTLERS

Police in Charlton, Massachusetts are warning residents to be on the lookout for men who may be challenging passersby to a rap battle. Charlton police said a black SUV with two or three men in their late teens or early 20s inside, pulled up to three young teenage boys about 3 p.m. last Saturday. One of the men got out of the vehicle and started rapping while the other men asked the boys if they wanted to “spit some bars” with them. When the boys declined, the SUV drove off. Although this was suspicious behavior and frightening to the boys, nothing made this appear to be an attempted abduction, Charlton police said.
* Not an attempted abduction, more like a drive-by freestyle.
* I can’t see any rhyme or reason to this.
* Be on the lookout. And don’t leave the house without your rhyming dictionary.
* Street rapping only leads to harmonizing, and then to the harder stuff, like doo-wop.
* Wow, just when you think you’ve heard it all in this business.
* It just doesn’t sound that threatening: assault with a deadly rhyme.
* Maybe they should check out this phenomenon called 4 Bar Friday.
* I’m not super-up on everything, but even I’ve heard about that.
* So they like to rap – I don’t think Jay Z has anything to worry about here.
