CLOWN CONVENTION
Clowns are are converging on Orlando this week for the World Clown Association annual convention, where they’ll discuss serious issues facing them today. Some of the issues, according to Pam Moody, the organization’s vice president:
– Clowns have gotten a bad rap from scary movies and TV shows that have tarnished their image.
– Association membership has dropped over the past decade as clowns get older and older.
– Circuses, a big employer for clowns, currently face attendance issues.
At the annual convention, more than 200 clowns will work on their skills, with classes on face painting, costuming, balloon making and on how to put on a good skit. The convention is all week long at the International Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando.

* Clowns are getting older and older? Is there a way to make clowns get younger and younger?
* What about some of the other serious clown issues:
– Clown name theft.
– Trying to get the clown white makeup out of the wrinkles in your crow’s feet.
– When somebody in the clown car breaks wind.
– Pie doping
* The convention’s welcoming reception should be interesting. There’s a big musical performance by Insane Clown Posse.
* The clowns will be discussing serious issues so they won’t just be sad on the inside – they’ll be sad on the outside too.
* There’s going to be some pretty strange public announcements at the convention: “Please check with lost and found if you’ve lost a red nose.”
* Clowns have made a lot of valuable contributions to society. For one, they really revolutionized car-pooling,
