CELLIST CAUGHT WITH 113 POUNDS OF MARIJUANA
Troopers in Oregon arrested a Minnesota musician after discovering about a quarter-million dollars worth of marijuana in his trunk. The Oregon State Police pulled David Huckaby over for speeding near the small town of Bly last Friday. Troopers say they found 113 pounds of marijuana when they searched his car. Huckaby is an accomplished cellist. He received a Master’s Degree from the prestigious Juilliard School, and the 33-year-old performed with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra for four seasons. He is now in an Oregon jail. Recreational marijuana use is legal in Oregon. But the amount troopers say they found on Huckaby has him facing charges for distribution.
* Come on. Name me one person who can make a living playing the cello?
* Yo-Yo Ma. OK. Name two.
* Accomplished cellist. Accomplished drug smuggler, not so much.
* Now he’s trying to argue that the 113 pounds was his personal stash.
* They also found over a hundred bags of Fritos.
* He’s gone from playing the cello to blowing his cellmate’s clarinet.
* By the time the cello player gets out of jail, he could be bow … legged.
* Wouldn’t you at least think about not speeding if you’re driving along with 113 pounds of drugs in your car?
* 113 pounds of marijuana. That could supply the entire state of Oregon for at least 5 minutes.
* This explains why the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra had a lot of 20-minute cello solos.
