ALLIGATOR DISCOVERED IN SUBURBAN ILLINOIS HOUSE
A six-foot alligator kept in a suburban Illinois home for 26 years was removed Saturday by authorities. The 200-lb reptile was discovered by an appliance repairman, who spotted the animal after noticing movement inside a container in resident Charles Price’s basement. The repairman contacted animal control officers. Price is charged with misdemeanor unlawful possession of an endangered species. The American Alligator is native to Florida and endangered in Illinois. Neighbors were reportedly unaware the animal was living there. Price would periodically put it out into his backyard, but most of the time it was caged.
* Most of the time it was caged? That’s not good enough.
* Tell the neighbor’s cat that most of the time it was caged.
* Uh, has anyone seen the neighbor’s cat?
* To be fair, the alligator didn’t start off being six feet long.
* It was probably only deadly for the past 20 years or so.
* How did they know it was there 26 years? Was it marking X’s on the wall?
* It was like a member of the family … the reptile family.
* The appliance repairman discovered the alligator? Sure, if you call shrieking in terror “discovered.”
* Other than that, how did the repair job go?
