MAN STEALS MONEY FROM BUDDHIST MONK
A Philadelphia man is accused of robbing a Buddhist monk as he purchased lottery tickets from a gas station. Security footage shows the 61-year-old monk – dressed in orange robes – at a lottery machine on January 3 when he is ambushed by the suspect. The thief grabbed about $350 in cash from the monk’s hands. The monk chased the suspect out of the Sunoco station in South Philly and into the parking lot. A struggle between the monk and suspect ensued, leaving the monk with a scratch on his leg. The suspect escaped.
* In THIS life, maybe. But not in the next.
* Aren’t monks supposed to know karate or something? I’ve seen the movies.
* And why was the monk buying lottery tickets? Was he playing the Higher Powerball?
* “Hey, I may be spiritual, but I’m not crazy!”
* Now the monk is wondering what he did for such bad karma.
* The monk would have called for help, but, you know – the whole ‘vow of silence’ thing.
* Try getting to a state of bliss after this.
* Now he wants to be reincarnated as Batman.
* See, this is why I don’t where orange robes when I go out.
* They just draw too much attention.
