PIZZA BOXES OF DEATH
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Wednesday that it will ban three chemicals commonly used in food packaging. The offending chemicals are three types of perfluoroalkyl ethyl, which is applied to cardboard food containers as an oil and water repellent. In plain English, it’s the chemical coating that keeps the pizza box from getting soaked through with grease.
* What, we’re NOT supposed to eat the boxes now?
* Sucking on that oil-soaked cardboard and licking off the mozzarella remnants was the best part.
* So the boxes are poison. Could they have made pizza ANY more deadly? After they started putting bacon on it, I mean.
* Nice of them to get on this in such a timely manner.
* How many of these poisonous pizza boxes went out – you know, rounded off to the nearest billion.
* I’ve personally had at least 100 of them in my home myself.
* There are some phrases that you know are trouble and one of them is “chemical coating.”
