RED SOX FAN GETS FREE WEDDING AT FENWAY AFTER GETTING HIT BY FOUL BALL
Stephanie Wapenski was watching her beloved Red Sox play in Fenway Park in July when a foul ball ricocheted off her forehead. Now, she’s getting married in the ballpark next November. Wapenski has been a lifelong Red Sox fan. She has been to about 120 Red Sox Games and has a Red Sox tattoo. When boyfirned Matt Fraenze proposed last year, he did it at Fenway because he knew how much the place means to her. Then she got hit with a 100-mile-per-hour foul. The Red Sox asked her if there was anything they could do. She asked if she could get married in the stadium. The team waived the venue fee – about $10,000 – for the wedding, which will take place on Nov. 11. By the way, her fiance, is a Yankees fan.
* Well, that marriage should work out just great then.
* 100 mph? The ringing in her ears should be gone by New Year’s.
* It won’t be easy having “Rawlings” printed backwards on her forehead for the rest of her life.
* And if you think I’m going to make any other joke about balls bouncing off her head, you’re out of your mind.
* The Red Sox asked her if there was anything they could do … to avoid a lawsuit.
* She has a Red Sox tattoo? You can always tell the classy ones, can’t you?
* I’m just glad she saw them in July before they were out of the pennant race.
* Now the bad news: She has to get married during the 7th inning stretch.
