MAN CLAIMS FAKE ROBBERY TO GET GIRLFRIEND'S ATTENTION
A man’s attempt to get his girlfriend’s attention prompted a police response to a Danbury, Connecticut, store last Wednesday. Police said a Dollar Tree employee texted his girlfriend about 5:30 p.m. to tell her that the store was being robbed. The girlfriend then called police, who immediately sent several officers to the store. Police found employees and customers going about their business as there was no robbery underway. The employee who sent the text was identified as Corey Staggers, 20. He told police he was just trying to get his girlfriend’s attention. Staggers received a ticket for creating a public disturbance.
* His name was Staggers as in, “It staggers the imagination how anyone could be this stupid.”
* He got his girlfriend’s attention all right. She’s especially attentive to what a jerk he is.
* It’s bad enough her boyfriend works at a Dollar Tree store – turns out he’s also an idiot.
* Setting our sights kind of low in the relationship game, no?
* It never made sense. Who would bother to rob a Dollar Tree Store?
* I’ll bet the ticket was a damn sight more than a dollar.
* I don’t get it. How is NASA getting by without this genius working there?
* Now watch what happens when the store really does get robbed.
