ENTIRE POLICE FORCE QUITS BECAUSE OF NEW MAYOR

For 14 years and through two different mayors, Mark Fallaw was the police chief for the town of North, South Carolina (* yep.) That career came to an end on December 1 when he resigned, stating that he had issues with the new mayor, Patty Carson. Carson had issued a gag order on the department saying they were not able to speak to media members and she would handle all requests. She also requested a two-week notice on any public appearances by officers and also wanted to monitor incoming and outgoing department emails. Chief Fallaw resigned, and when he left, all of his employees followed. With no force to patrol the town, the county has had to take over until further notice. Mayor Carson has refused to comment, saying she will not discuss personnel issues in a public forum.
* Oh, right – Gag order. Sorry. We forgot.
* No police? Time to call in Chuck Norris.
* A controlling woman. Go figure.
* Sounds like everything in the town of North went south all at once.
* Aw, the police chief got his widdle feelings hurt, so he went home.
* There was a little too much direction from the mayor.
* Oh well, at least they’re working as a team.
* The population of the town was around 800 in the last census so just picture a 2015 version of Mayberry, R.F.D.
* Of course, Sheriff Andy Taylor would have found a way to make this work.
* But if Andy had quit you know Barney would have walked too.
* With no police force the town had to ask for help from nearby Mt. Vernon.
* Now here’s Elton John with “The Bitch Is Back.”
